Looking back at 2019

This year we got to celebrate a great Christmas party with all of Blockpit’s team members and reflect on the past year. We had an amazing dinner and then celebrated with other startups from the strada del startup. To look back on a successful and challenging year, we offer you a few personal remarks by our CEO Florian Wimmer. Read the interview below to find out what he found to be the most astonishing thing in 2019 and what he is looking forward to in 2020.

How did Blockpit develop in 2019?

The major milestones were probably the launch of our platform including mobile apps at the beginning of the year and of course our very successful Security Token Offering, with which we assumed a pioneering role in financing in Austria. Of course, we didn’t rest after the release and worked all year long on the further development and improvement of our software solutions.

What was your personal highlight of 2019?

I think that was in February, after months of work and strong commitment of our partners from the legal and tax sector, when we received the approval of the Financial Market Authority for the issue of the first Austrian Security Token.

What does 2020 have in store for Blockpit?

2020 is clearly a year of growth – we have developed a great product and of course now want to offer it beyond the borders of Austria and Germany. We are increasingly focusing on the direct integration of our "Tax Engine" into existing stakeholders of the crypto-ecosystem, such as Exchanges, Wallets and Custodians. The increasing regulation clearly strengthens our back and helps to enable more secure access to digital assets.
